About our Artificial Intelligence practice

We started in 2019 with three people and a conviction: AI should solve real problems for real businesses, not generate impressive-looking demos that never leave the lab.

How we got here

The company began as a side project. Our founder, Priya Kavanagh, was a machine-learning engineer at a large consultancy. She noticed the same pattern over and over: clients paid six-figure fees for proof-of-concept models that never reached production. The gap between a Jupyter notebook and a live system was too wide, and nobody on the consulting team knew how to close it.

So she left. She recruited Marcus Trent, a DevOps specialist who had spent a decade shipping code at fintech startups, and Lena Barrow, a statistician who had built risk models for two London insurers. Together they formed Clairvoyant AI Scope in a rented office above a bakery in Carterley.

The first client was a regional courier company that wanted to predict next-day parcel volumes. The model went live in four weeks. It is still running today, recalibrated quarterly, and it has saved the client an estimated £180,000 in wasted driver shifts over four years.

That project set the template we follow on every engagement: short discovery, rapid prototype, production deployment, ongoing monitoring. We do not hand over a slide deck and walk away.

Mission and values

Our mission is simple: help UK businesses use Artificial Intelligence to do measurable, specific things better. Reduce waste. Speed up decisions. Catch defects earlier. We care about the metric that moves, not the technology that moves it.

  • Honesty about feasibility

    Before we write a line of code, we tell you whether your data can support the outcome you want. About one in five enquiries ends with us advising the client to fix their data collection first. We would rather lose a sale than deliver a model that misleads.

  • Production or nothing

    A model that lives in a notebook is a research exercise, not a product. Every project plan includes deployment, integration testing and a monitoring dashboard. If we cannot get it into production, we say so upfront.

  • Plain language reporting

    Weekly status emails go out in plain English. We include a single accuracy number, a single cost number and a short paragraph on what changed. No 40-page decks.

  • Fair pricing

    We bill on a fixed-fee basis for defined scopes. If scope changes, we re-quote before doing extra work. Hourly billing creates an incentive to be slow; we prefer an incentive to be efficient.

Priya spent seven years at Deloitte building classification models for financial-services clients before founding the company. She holds an MSc in Computer Science from Imperial College London.

Marcus Trent, head of engineering

Marcus has deployed production systems at three fintech startups. He designs our CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration and monitoring infrastructure. He is the reason models go live on time.

Lena Barrow, principal data scientist

Lena built actuarial risk models for eight years before joining us. She specialises in time-series forecasting and anomaly detection, and she leads our quality-assurance process for model validation.

James joined in 2021 after completing his PhD in computational linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. He builds the text-classification and entity-extraction pipelines our clients use to process customer communications.

March 2019

Priya, Marcus and Lena register the company and sign the lease on our first office in Carterley. Total headcount: three.

June 2019

First client engagement: a parcel-volume forecasting model for a regional courier firm. The model reaches production in 28 days.

January 2020

Revenue passes £200,000. We hire two junior data scientists and move to a larger office on Schaefer Close.

September 2021

James Okonkwo joins, bringing NLP expertise. We launch our first document-processing product for the legal sector.

April 2023

Team grows to eleven. We complete our 50th client project, spanning logistics, insurance, retail and healthcare diagnostics.

January 2025

We begin offering computer-vision inspection systems for manufacturing clients, adding a fourth service line to our portfolio.
